She’s got Moxie!

Now, alas, the phrase seems to be dead. I call that we bring it back into the vernacular. I mean, Moxie is one hell of a word.

The idea behind Kickstater is that the world wide web provides artists with a great opportunity to ask the internet community for funding. No big studios or corporate investors, just grassroots campaign. You can make a presentation setting the amount of money you’d like to raise, over what period you’d like to raise it in and what you will use the money for.

Things have been a bit quiet around here.

It was for a good purpose. The silence has gone hand-in-hand with some changes for Epigram Copy.  The silence was a time to reflect on the business, and what the purpose of Epigram Copy is and/or should be.

It’s about writing .

I like writing. No. Forget that. I’m obsessed.

When I started out this company, I was willing to write for the sake of it. Anything and everything. But after two years and a few jobs under my belt, I started to wonder what, if anything beyond my personal writing, can I scribble about which I feel morally and spiritually attached to.

What about advertising and marketing? Isn’t that what a copywriter does?

Anyone who knows me understands that I’m not one of your typical advertising/marketing people. Making copy to flog some new-fangled mobile phone or soda ain’t my thang. And unfortunately, that is the majority of what I’ve done. And so far, I haven’t much liked it.

What are you saying?

Over the last few months I’ve taken on a few smaller jobs that I’ve enjoyed. I’ve helped out smaller charities, artists, non-profits and individuals. I found great satisfaction in it. So much so in fact, I’m relaunching the business with a new purpose.

From today, Epigram’s new mission is to provide affordable copy services to artists, non-profit organizations and charities. I’ve reorganized my pricing structure to reflect this change.
